"Started getting my motor bits ready but still not quite sure what I am using." u r related to MacGyver for sure..... ski looks nice
helping rumble finish his fx1 not long to go now We decided the best choice for the motor is to go 760 big block with twin 38s msd enhanser and a brand new mod chamber b pipe we had to design a tool for undoing 14mm head bolts from the b pipe manifold, I thought the stock 12s or even 13mm heads were hard! Rumbles Rickter look-alike just need some nuts and bolts which knoxie is geting and also we are heli-coiling the exhaust manifold threads to accept the 61x stock bolts
cmon guys lets not hijack rumble's post with yet another battle between kawis and yamahas...save it for the general discusion page
agreed. While rumble has been away doing non jet ski related stuff I have got his motor in with the mod chamber on and all fitting comfortable with new silicone exhaust going to the alu sj waterbox he has squeezed up front. not alot of room in the nose. the bolts holding the tubbies in place were a problem for the pipe cause the heads were in the way inside the hull so i used countersunk bolts and put the nuts on the outside hopefully we will be able to test it out later this week!
sweet look forward to outcome was looking at getting bigger jet unit into taynes ski but will now get boat going so we have good wake boat
Note the lack of space between... well.. everything! Got it wet today, goes well with good punch... The tubbies make a huge difference to stability and help with the turning (the clearance on the pump meant I had a very short throw) Just a couple of minor jobs to do then she is complete, then its just a case of giving it a check over and going back to fix up a couple of things we noticed while putting it together.. Big thanks to White Sox for doing about 50 hours on it! it was a huge help as I only usually get a couple of hours a week, and a second set of eyes is a great way to make the impossible fit work... I just hope I never have to change the bilge pump!
probably wasnt 50 hours but quite alot of work everything needed to be slightly modified to fit in like the 1100gph bilge pump under the driveshaft to the left with the hose facing to the right!! such a snug fit and only have to remove the sub shaft to squeeze it in there haha good times!
