Any 1 in Christchurch keen to go for a surf ride this coming Sunday? Iv only been riding about 6 months, but keen as to get out and hit it up.
Drop in at Brooklands and go out the mouth of the mak. Been out there a few times and the waves have been mint most of the time
sounds good Timmy, can't find any info on any closures of beaches. Anyone know where to find the details?
I just checked out the Waimak district council web site and it dosent say weather the slip ways are closed or not
http://ecan.govt.nz/services/online-ser ... quake.aspx looks clean so far if i'm not out on the dirtbike i'll come out for a ride
doesnt look good does it, can you get in the water further south at spencerville? what are the other options?
Im sure we could find somewhere along there to get in the water, wud prob just hav to launch from the beach.
If you've seen what I've seen...you wouldnt go near the water anywhere along the coast line... lol.... South of the peninsula you will be fine (taumutu, birdlings etc) but pretty nasty shore breaks. People are surfing at scar without any known health issues but you take the chance. I'm out, as away for the weekend and my ski is buried somehwere in my garage...
waikuku beach is all good i have mates who have been surfing there recently i dunno what access is like, there is a walking track to the beach, Some of the south bays on the peninsula have good surf aswell.
sweet so who's gonna make the d? I havent been anywhere down here so don't have a clue. Met Shannon at Farnleys and he mentioned some mates had been in at south end of sumner (scars) so that could be the go
