What year Superjets are better freestyle skis - 96 to 07 or 08/09? And anyone know of any mint Superjets for sale?
everyone seems to think that 96-07 shape is the best for surf, think norms got that blue one... good luck
this one here is going for a reasonble price if you have a chat to the guy, I would of bought it had I not found one closer to home: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =244234564
Dax, it wont matter what you buy, you will get use to either but it seems the 08 shaped skis are stronger in the nose as we have seen a few hit the bottom with no probs but the pre 08 skis seem to crack and break the nose easier.
i think one of the main issues with the '08+ was the short steering cable they came out with....resulting in less throw of the nozzle. which people seem to get around by installing a pre '07 cable (however i think you need to change to pole too) there is also quick turn adapters etc on market now too.
Thanks for the info...still a hard call - not sure whether to get a mint but second hand ski and spend the money saved on pipe, re-inforcing etc...or $$$$ on a new ski, and do the same over time.
If you like the way your SN rides / handles you may aswell just get a 96-07... That way you will have money left over to start the expensive process of modifying it
Mate i just bought a 09 Superjet and its best handling ski i have ever ridden. I had an SXR a few years ago and this ski would shit all over it. If you love to freestyle it and carve it up then you cant beat the 08+ superjets. There are adapters out now to change the steering ratio and get your quick steering back. I just added a RRP pole and it comes with all the brackets etc to suit.
