Hey guys, Im new to poleskis, just bought a '09 superjet and wandering what I need to do before I get into the surf? friends are talking about engine savers, bilge pump(s), hood straps and foot holds.... Any advice much appreciated
your friends are spot on, engine keepers are good if you're extreme, otherwise not really needed in the short term foot holds are amazingly good, once youve had them youd never go back bilge pump- i have no idea how someone can rinse all the salt off everything without one, there is a factory venturi unit pre installed, which will get most of the water out while you ride- assuming you dont ride under water much hood straps are also crucial in my opinion on a yamaha. they have a SHIT hood latch which has a tendancy to let go when you get smashed side on by a wave... if this happens and the hood comes off, you have bought a bloody expensive seabed decoration
Yes T- bear you are correct, I know everything, just ask Boom. Mate you need to put a scoop grate on it and bend the pole spring so the pole is not heavy too hold up, a bilge pump and footholes. Once you get confident and want to try doing tricks other than just jumping waves then get some engine keepers and a scupper valve
Shit, those are quick responses!. Where would I get the footholds put in? I'm a very amateur fiberglasser and. A brand new sj doesn't seem like the thing to practice on! Haha and also, where's the best plac to buy all this stuff (scoop grate, bilge pump and hood straps). Thanks for the info Jamie
Yo jdiggs I saw a brand new superjet in the back of a ute heading north towards town on the motorway on saturday was it you?
go footholds and mat, bilge pump, Works 205 scoop grate and heavy duty pole spring. Thats all you need untill you get good enough to start breaking stuff.
I don't think it takes skill to break stuff. In fact quite the opposite, I managed to break my pole bracket because I had no idea what I was doing. Ive also broken a limiting rope and I'm clearly not good at this yet. Ill show you next time I see man
Yup it's Jamie, who are you?. Sounds like a good line up of hardware, will get onto it ASAP. cheers for the info guys
Lets just say I had nothing to do with the Karaoke machine on Friday night after Steve dribbled all over it.
