What is the best way to tune a ski ?

Have you just put the parts on
Or has it developed an issue

If you are just going to try and tune by yourself your asking for an expensive bill

Cheers for the books Glukasil ... I've just finished reading the Gordon Jennings one and have to give it back to the guy at work who I borrowed it off. I was going to scan it, but I guess you just saved me a few hours work.

    Thanks mate!

when i first purchased ski it had a top end prop and strange jets ,rebuilt carbs and put new jets in and changed prop etc,it just seems to be bit slugish and is miss firing futher on in the rev range,i can take it so some 1 to tune if i could damage the motor ,just wouldnt mind learning

find out what carb settings other people with the same setup as you are running and use that as a starting point then grab someone that half knows what they are doing to go with you and ask them questions. its pretty easy to feel the ski going better and better when you start getting close. keep checking the plugs and if they dont look lean then sweet. Ive found my ski wants to be real rich on the lows and then brown plug on the highs. The enhancer burns off the rich mixture no problem and makes good bottom end. i only ever tune for bottom end and my ski aint much faster then a stocker but leaps 2 feet out of the water with no flat spot

yeah i havnt touched top end yet will prob leave that ,i was told to turn bottom end out 2 turns?,but since i have repaired stator ,it seems to be lacking in power down low ,would having the timing out by a couple of mm (advanced) be a problem ?

this ski is turning out to be a bi#*$

If you turned the timing back from its advanced setting
you will notice a bit less power down low
depending on how far advanced it was

ok ,flaged tunning ,changed cdi and ,solanoid ,voltage regulator,

ignition coil test ok but should i change that aswell?

does any 1 have a 62t stator that i could try to see if that is the priblem?
