Ok, the dude's name (it's listed in the profile also) is Rowan. The police have already done a background check on him and they say he "has a reasonably checkered past with us already". So, looking hopeful..
I saw that listing yesterday it had no photo and it said it was an 07. dodgy! well done Redtro! any one lost any mags the ones in the back ground are bound to be hot to!
sould get his address to say u wana look at it and roll over wif some bats and smash his knee caps out.get a few of us togetter.
They sent an undercover round to look at it this morn. He was talking to my mate before he went and jokingly said "I wonder if he'll swap it for my patrol car.."
Let him swap it for a jail cell or a baseball bat around the knee caps is what i say. Justice will be served.
yeah he will get next to nothing small fine probly, perhaps your mate could get his real name for all of us to know. i've kept his number.
The listing has been pulled of TM. Yep it takes a lot of brains to list a stolen ski on TM. Did he think no one would notice.
Received a call from the Rotorua police this morn. They say with the info given by myself and a couple of others with respect to markings, aftermarket items and fittings, they were confident that is was the ski in question so seized it and made an arrest. They tell me the dude is saying he "bought it off a mate for $1800" so the police are currently trying to establish whether this is the truth, or whether he was responsible for the original theft. Thanks again to all that have alerted me to the TM auctions etc, yes, pretty stupid of someone to advertise it, but all in all a good result as the original owner is able to retrieve it on Thursday
if he bought it from a mate for 1800, why was he trying to sell it as an '07 for $8000? seems more likely he or his friends stole it and didn't know enough about it when thinking of a price. what a dick. Good work on the police's part, I just hope he gets more than a slap around the wrists.
