I got heaps of grunt from twin 46mm carbs 125 pilots, 137.5 mains, 115 springs, 2.3 n/s the 44s weren't too bad either but with the 46 it could jump out of the water just on the throttle previously had run a 46 single with blowsion manifold which gave arm wrenching response, but twins have much smoother delivery and better top end (in my experience)
Yeah I like twins (blonde with bolt ons) but have never ridden a good single carb setup, if you ride only in the surf you wouldnt notice the difference
yeah every 1 keeps telling me to go to single carb but not sure what to do,just want heaps of down low power
my single 46mm Carb is running well, twin carbs give you better top end but surely there isnt too much difference in bottom end? Single carb cheaper when you need to rebuild too
You would think so wouldnt you But in my experience the twin offer far better low end than a single Its an all gain over a single carb
I run single 48mm Mikuni carbs on both my standups, and get good bottom and top end. In saying that, I have tried a single 48mm novi and gotten better results, an dual 44/46/48 carbs that are well set up give better low and top end power. I just like the simplicity of the single 48 mikunis...
... I felt my single 46 novi was better all through the range than twin 38s. however my twin 46 novis are better than the single 46, tho use more petrol but worth it for the bigger smile I no longer have a pole ski so transplanted the same set up (motor and carbs) into my blaster II and same result - big bottom end
Nah that would be fine On a 61x you may as well run a single carb If you want it to respond more then machine 5mm of the top and the bottom of the intake manifold and blend it in You will break though on certain parts of the manifold so you have to devcon it first You will see on the flat part where there is a dip in the intake Its pretty easy to spot where you need to Even if you didn't devcon it you can do it later its just more of a pain
