Has anybody recoated the bottom of their hull. Wheres the best place to go to get it done?

Is it something you can do yourself?

When I smashed the hole in mine I got the nose recoated. Im not sure what it cost as they included it in the price.
They were going to do the whole bottom of the ski for around $250 I think?
Ya can buy the stuff and spray or brush it on yourself.

I forgot to tell you rick, when you Gel Coat the bottom it will be a matt finish, you have to buff the shit out of the coating to get it shiny. Fine sand paper then buff it like car paint.
You can get it in heaps of colours too not just black and white.

    sounds great. Thanks
  6. To get it shiny you just give it a real fine sand once its dry but hasn't dried to hard (don't leave it for a week or anything) and be careful not to sand all the way through. Then buff it once its smooth and you'll get a mirror finish. Gel coat comes in clear so you can just spray it over your paint.

Paint it with some polyurethane paint. Most panel beaters stock the stuff, and it's just as hard as gelcoat.

The good thing about this stuff is you don't need a special gelcoat gun (or a stupidly large tip) and it sprays on nice and even, if you know what you're doing.
