The thread for the pivot bolt has stripped on my Rickter. As I have it in bits at the moment does anyone have a heli-coil kit the right size that I can borrow. Failing that can you recommend somewhere I can take it to have it fixed / helicoiled that won't pillage my wallet too much?

I believe the pole bolt thread is a M14x1.5 (M14 Fine Thread). Knoxie would probably confirm this. I would say you'll probably have to contact some engineering firm and just ask if the have a recoil for that size.

Metric fine thread is a lot harder to find in stainless than course thread

Engine specialties on Hillside road have a lot of recoil kits there

yup dick is right, M14 x 1.5 , I have a tap for that size, you can use if you want to weld up the thread and re-tap it.....its not a very common size so finding a helicoil might be tricky...

tradetools.co.nz stock the Helicoil kit - it ain't cheap - On special at the moment for $155+gst. Go with Knoxies option of welding up the thread and re-tapping. Will be you cheapest option.
