    Hi guys & girls.

My friends ski had stopped running and I thought I would help her out to get it running again.

I just took 500ml of water and some stuff that looked like white snot out of her fuel tank on a Kawasaki 750 SXI pole ski tonight so I suggest you consider REGULARLY cleaning out your fuel tank.

You do NOT need to drain the whole thing, only the bottom couple of litres.
You can do it by siphoning but I suggest the following the simple procedure listed below.

TILT the TRAILER so the nose is in the air and the fuel runs closest to the fuel pickups.

Remove the FUEL IN hose from the carburettor(s) and put the hose into a 2 litre jug.

Remove the FUEL RETURN hose from the carburettor(s).

Select RESERVE on the fuel selector valve.

BLOW into the FUEL RETURN hose to force fuel out of the reserve fuel tank pick up and into the jug.

Ensure you put all hoses back on firmly and replace any cable ties you may have removed to get them off.

You may be AMAZED how much crap comes out into the jug.

    HAPPY CHRISTMAS SKIING!!!!!!!!

I would appreciate feedback, photos, of what does come out of your tanks, or advice as to if this information was useful to you.

NOTE - This is a ski that had just come back from an EXPENSIVE service at a supposedly reputable ski shop where they cleaned and repaired the carbuettors. (The carburettors were NOT cleaned at all - BASTARDS!! - still full of rust and salt residue - but is another story.)

As I honestly do not know at the moment it would be a little unfair to speculate.

The main lesson is if you find someone who is good and gives great service then be a loyal customer, otherwise keep looking.
