I have a few salt encrusted nuts that I can't shift - they are on the pissers that take water from the engine thru the hull so I can't get a lot of leverage on them - does anyone have a trick on how to free up these frozen nuts?

    Wd40 works well.

wd40 and use some heat.we use gas at work but you could try heat gun maybe.
  4. penetrating spray + a ring spanner + a pin punch to hold them from the outside so they dont turn.

Irwin do a product called BOLT GRIP which fit over then out side of nuts that are rusted and rounded of and work a charm.

One of the belt tool sets i have bought.

I got mine form Blackwood Plykels at about $45.

alternatively use a 6 sided socket rather then a 12 sided socket or use an imperial socket that is slightly under sized and hit it on with a hammer to get a tight fit.

Use a power bar such as a steel pole placed over the wrench or spanner to get more leverage.

Also i regards to the heating option, make sure you heat it fast as to only heat the outer nut so that expands and the inner bolt does not.

I would recommend to also put WD40 on it over night to let it soak in.

    Hope you win.

So is WD-40 any better for this than CRC?
