After doing winter check over, I just pulled my motor out to find 3 of my monkey grip mounts have pulled the top plate off the rubber, was looking at the 701 Industries Engine Mounts. Anyone got any tips or suggestions on which is best etc? Cheers
The best idea is to buy gp mounts of Roger. There cheep bolt straight in. I didnt have to use any shims as the alinement was perfect. The gp mount are more solid and larger so your engine doesnt fall off the front mounts when moving it around.
Buy something with a life time warranty, I use cold fusion and swear by them! it would be safe to say no one hits the sea bed harder or more than me
Sicboi is correct, if you get a good batch of Cold Fusion mounts they are good but I still think genuine Yamaha superjet mounts are the best bang for your buck
Matter of cost and longtivity then, everybody has there preference. Never knew there would be so much to this jet skiing lark
Try the 701 mounts and report back they were good kunts for sponsoring the freeride. going to put my ones in for a try once i start riding again
So far so good with our 701 mounts, they Are built tough and take a beating, those Aussies have Been thrashing them and they seem to Take their punishment. Pretty sure they have a replacement warranty. Stock Yamaha ones don't!
Mate , I have smashed endless stock mounts and became quite sick of replacing them , 701 industries mounts are the way to go. Since i have installed 701 mounts I have landed my ski many times upside down and all four 701 mounts are still mint.
701 mounts in stock www.jetskijunk.co.nz are the NZ agent for 701. The mounts have a lifetime warranty, Period. 701 were a major sponsor of the freeride in support of NZ riders as they were keen to expose the products to the NZ market. Try them and you will not be disappointed, even genuine cant beat that warranty.
are you sure about a lifetime warranty it seems too good to be true?? so in ten years time if one of my mounts break and 701 are still in business they will replace it for free? thats alot of hitting the bottom
Check out this forum on ozfreeride, the 701 test pilots have given these mounts a good thrashing and seem happy with them. The new generation of mounts seem to have less vibration also. 701 also do motor mates which can help also. http://www.ozfreeride.com/index.php?thr ... post-51967 and as for the warranty... "Have never stopped trying to improve these Mounts. The latest version out has a world first design feature called FailSafe. What this means is that if the mount fails, the motor cant be separated from the mount. If all 4 mounts were to fail. your motor is still held in place through the FailSafe System. Then on top of that, coupled with MotorMates, you end up with double protection. The latest in Poly Urethane is now being used , This has super elasticity which has enable us to use a compound the same as OEM which has eliminated the vibration issues and with a redesigned Billet core , makes this mount super strong. Still have a life time replacement warranty and with these new mounts we have added a new edition. The Black Cat range. To suit either stand -up or Blaster. They are a all black mount with gloss black powdercoated MotorMates. The 4 mounts sell for $269.00 or you can get a FreeStyle kit for $299.00 which includes Mounts ,Mates and all the SS hardware to fit everything." Hope this helps
