What compression can ya run on a stock 701cc?
Fitting a b pipe and msd in the near future and was looking at the ADA racing headkit.
Does increasing the compression jeopardise the reliability of the motor very much?

Any change made to a motor in stock form will jeopardizes the reliability a little.

I run ADA heads with 35cc domes which gives you about 185psi while and the squish is reduced to about 055", which is safe to run on pump gas and long WOT runs.

I find them very reliable, although others on here have not and prefer to shave the stock head .030" to get the same effect.

both ways achieve the same result.

To answer your first question, you can run some pretty big compression on a stock motor as long as you run the correct fuel and jetting specs.

off a standard 701 headI had .8mm taken off, which took it to 175psi and no bad issues.
