The brake is for the turnplate only... With one arm, if you hit the gas the thrust of the pump would pull you back and force the steering to the left (hanging on for dear life). The way he has it, you hit the brake which freezes the steering, then you hit the throttle and you can go forward in a straight line... I hope that makes sense... I have my doubts as to how well he will be able to steer, especially since on a jetski you have to power through the turns, BUT that dude is a star in my books... Most would give up, but he is just looking for ways to make it work...
